Last week I launched a new series of daily posts with resources and tools to help you (and me!) start planning to have not just a good new year ahead but to really step it up and have a Kick A$$ 2019!
I’ve been sharing those resources every week day in our Strategic Agent Facebook Group (Click here to join if you’re not already a member) and I’ve compiled a list of them here in case you’ve missed any.

Today’s Tip #4 is below and based on a compilation of tips I’ve gathered over the years from various coaches and mentors. These are activities that I use regularly, though especially this time of year, I have to consciously re-dedicate myself to them. You may not want to employ all of them but pick and choose what works for you:
- Write down your Vision in compelling language so that you can really feel, see, smell, taste and hear what you want your life to be like one year from now. See Tip #1 above for a worksheet to help you with that. Keep this where you see it daily and actively read it at least once a week.
- With your Vision firmly in mind, evaluate your business and life in general now to determine what needs to be improved, changed, eliminated or learned in order to reach that Vision.
- Create a plan of measurable and achievable goals to get you to that Vision, write those down as well!
- Start a daily routine of reviewing your goals, ideally first thing in the morning. Determine one action you can take today to move you toward reaching that goal. Goal to take more listings in 2019? What can you do to achieve that? Update your Listing Presentation? Start farming a neighborhood? Update your marketing to focus more on your listing services? Take a class to improve your listing and pricing skills? Decide on an action and take action!
- Celebrate your successes! Reward yourself when you complete a goal or reach a milestone towards your overall vision. Real estate can be such a tough business of rejection and frustration that it’s important to really celebrate your wins – even minor ones. This encourages the behavior of completing your goals and motivates you to keep at it.
