Now is the perfect time to be planning and preparing for the new year that is just around the corner.
Well, that’s not quite true…about a month ago would have been the perfect time but here I am starting today. How about you?
Here’s my story, my college son and his girlfriend flew in to spend the week of Thanksgiving with us so I took off time for that and next thing I knew…it was December 6th and I hadn’t started my usual end of year planning for the new year. That generally starts for me BEFORE Thanksgiving – yikes!
Between family time and getting bogged down in the seemingly urgent day-to-day tasks right in front of me, I realized that I wasn’t doing the important business building activities that we all have to do to keep things growing and thriving. After I panicked a little bit and berated myself for letting time get away from me, I shook it off and developed a plan.
Why am I telling you this?
Because I have a hunch that you might be in a similar position. Have you started on your business planning for 2019? Have you sat down and thought about what went great in 2018 and what didn’t go so great? Have you put down on paper your specific plans to grow your business in 2019?

These 7 questions are specifically designed to get you in the mindset of evaluating the year that’s coming to an end and to start putting real thought into how you want 2019 to be different.
My suggestion is that you print out these pages and block off 15-20 minutes to really sit down with them and write down your answers. Yes, actual pen on paper. I did this myself this morning and there’s just something kinda magical about writing down the answers. It solidifies it in ways that just saying it out loud or even typing it doesn’t do. Go old school and take the time to write down your answers and I promise you’ll put more thought into it that way.
