I recently introduced the 3-E Strategy for winning clients and referrals on social media. Click here if you missed it.
I gave you the Introductory Guide for the 3 E Strategy AND followed that up with the “52 Education Topics for Real Estate Social Media Market” guide that literally provides you a year’s worth of education posting ideas.
That leads us this week to the second “E” and that’s Entertain.
For this section, I could give you a million examples but I wanted to be really specific with one – not for you to copy specifically – but to give you a great overall concept of what I mean by marrying the “Entertain” with the “Educate” and “Engage”.
So I called on an agent I’ve personally known for several years and I just love the way she seamlessly educates, entertains and engages with her audience in a way that never feels or sounds salesy or insincere.
Please let me ‘introduce’ Pamela Hale. Please be sure that you are logged into Facebook and THEN Click here to see Pamela’s “#whereispamela posts. (If the link doesn’t work for you, log in to Facebook and in the blank search bar at the top right of the screen, type in #whereispamela and you’ll see the posts.)
First, let me say, I’ve been in real estate since 1996 and MOST of my ‘friends’ on social media are REALTORS. So, I see it all. But I picked Pamela to highlight for this Strategy Session for the following reasons:
1 – She picked a tagline and corresponding hashtag that has stuck and gets noticed. – “Where is Pamela?” and #whereispamela. She uses it consistently enough that it’s memorable and people notice when she goes a day or so without posting (that should be a goal for all of us!).
Pamela posts in both Instagram and Facebook, though these ideas could work just as well on Twitter, Snapchat, Linkedin, etc. She uses a mix of images, text and video – though mostly images.
2 – She posts a fun mix of real estate, personal, family, education, community info and so much more to constantly keep people wanting to see more. Granted, she works in a beautiful resort lake community so she has some great scenery to display but this could be achieved in any market.
3 – I spoke with Pamela in preparation (and to get her approval to share) for this Strategy Session and she shared the following with me:
“I have lots of positive feedback from my followers. If I don’t post a day or so, folks will send me a private message and say ‘hey, where are you? What’s going on?’ I think it helps keep me top of mind without ‘selling’ and followers like that it’s not scripted but real, so if I make mistakes it’s okay 😉”
My point in sharing this with you is that it’s that easy – be real, be consistent, share your real estate life (mixed with your real life) and it’s easy to be entertaining. I’ve said it a million times – EVERYONE is curious about real estate – that makes it easy for us to talk about it. EVERYONE wishes they had the keys to every house for sale. Use this curiosity and the adventures of your daily business to your advantage to educate and entertain your audience.
We’ll tackle the next “E” – Engage – next week. See ya then!
